Once again, The Lincoln Project hit a new power ad out of the stadium This remarkable group of Republicans and former Republicans include such notables as former Chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC) Michael Steele, Kellyanne Conway’s husband George, and strategists such as Susan Del Percio and Steve Schmidt.
Their latest ad is compelling. As photos of Donald Trump flip by, a voice warns him of his worst fears: being a loser, a failure, no legacy, lawsuits, huge loans, and humiliation. After the narrator says these words aloud, a second voice comes in behind it in a whisper sounding like the smooth scales of the snake urging Eve to eat the forbidden fruit. The latter voice is far scarier and enhances the depth of Trump’s worst fears.
The narrator comes back warning of his house of cards collapsing, and his secrets all exposed. She tells Trump that he is frozen in a world where he cannot tweet his way out. Listen to what you do not hear the two voices say. Just stop!
The ad begins:
‘Lawsuits. Debts. Bankruptcies. They’re all coming for you, Donald.’
