It hurt to watch. A clearly exhausted nurse came in front of the camera and wept as her fatigue and the vast expanse of the pandemic entered her words for us. In spite of this, President Barack Obama does a pretty good straight-man performance in the midst of suffering. He is operating quietly, never stealing the spotlight from his former vice president, President-elect Joe Biden. Yet, he is taking some real essential actions, and that infectious smile lets people know that it will be okay, the COVID-19 virus will go away one day.
Still, there is something that Obama wanted to say to us. He is urging us to all “do our part” and “protect one another.” Somehow when it says it, there is the desire to join with him in doing our part to save America and all the Americans she holds close to her heart. He tweeted:
‘With COVID-19 cases reaching an all-time high this week, we’ve got to continue to do our part to protect one another. This pandemic is far from over and your actions can help save lives.’
Then, we realized that five medical women were holding signs that read
‘We stay at work for you, please stay at home for us.’
President Obama’s tweet exploded like fireworks over Washington DC. Check out what some of our favorites responders had to say below:
Thank you for continuing to do your part. Your willingness to stay engaged with the American people is admirably unselfish ✨🙏🏾 pic.twitter.com/EEdVKjnt6E
