Letitia James is a ferocious opponent for anyone, but especially those who have been around so many criminal elements as Donald Trump. New York Attorney General James said on SiriusXM radio what the rest of the world is whispering.
She told the host of The Dean Obeidallah Show that 45’s comments about martial law during a White House meeting and his corresponding actions amount to “an act of sedition.” For us nonlegal people, that is a daylight coup by overthrowing a fair and legal election and seizing power.
Obeidallah asked James about Trump’s discussion during that meeting, about trying to flip the 2020 election. A man he had just pardoned was convicted felon Michael Flynn, and he was at the meeting, too.
James told Dean Trump’s days are “coming to an end:”
‘The days of President Trump are closely coming to an end. And the reality is is that this is an act of sedition. This president is engaging in illegality, and the fact that he would even consider martial law is an affront to our values, and to the Constitution.’
Then, she said “The people have spoken:”
‘The people have spoken, and he should accept the outcome of the election, as opposed to trying to find fraud where none exists [the whole entire is] nothing more than a distraction.’
Trump was trying to distract the public from their economic and pandemic woes, AG James said. She said this was just a money-maker for him:
‘And the reality is that this is nothing more than an attempt by President Trump to raise money. It’s fundraising. That’s all that this is. Fundraising. And that’s all that he cares about. He’s in the White House, and he stews on the fact that he’s a loser, and he lost this election, and unfortunately he’s finding it hard to accept. He lost.’
Then, Letitia James addressed Trump’s supposed attempts to disrupt Congress’ last act, to certify the Electoral College results:
‘[M]embers of Congress in all likelihood will again try to circumvent the will of the people, undermine our democracy, and delay or attempt to delay the fact that Vice President Biden and Vice President-elect Harris will soon be sworn in on January 20th.’
