On Thursday — Christmas Eve — the outgoing president and First Lady, Donald and Melania Trump, shared a Christmas video message on Twitter. In the video, the duo offers a detached recitation of some of the current holiday circumstances — notably without mentioning the president’s repeated lie that fraud plagued the recent presidential election. Instead, the two of them stuck to a hollow-seeming proclamation of well wishes for Americans — many of whom, based on polling, are apparently eager to see the Trumps leave D.C.
Thursday tweets from Trump alongside the Christmas video message help exemplify precisely why so many Americans are so sick of him — he posted a slew of utter nonsense, including a shouted, all-caps message in which he self-confidently proclaimed that “VOTER FRAUD… IS A FACT!!!” At what point would someone take his phone, at least in the name of national security?
I saved at least 8 Republican Senators, including Mitch, from losing in the last Rigged (for President) Election. Now they (almost all) sit back and watch me fight against a crooked and vicious foe, the Radical Left Democrats. I will NEVER FORGET!

Twitter is going wild with their flags, trying hard to suppress even the truth. Just shows how dangerous they are, purposely stifling free speech. Very dangerous for our Country. Does Congress know that this is how Communism starts? Cancel Culture at its worst. End Section 230!

VOTER FRAUD IS NOT A CONSPIRACY THEORY, IT IS A FACT!!!

Maria’s show and ratings are better than ever. They are trying to shame her into not telling the truth. Her audience would be gone, and she is far too smart for that. Rigged Election! https://t.co/g3AyaOx3dv

At a meeting in Florida today, everyone was asking why aren’t the Republicans up in arms & fighting over the fact that the Democrats stole the rigged presidential election? Especially in the Senate, they said, where you helped 8 Senators win their races. How quickly they forget!

In the Trumps’ Christmas video, after Donald offers a stilted recitation of the original Christmas story, Melania addresses the pandemic that her husband has seemed so consistently willing to ignore. She comments as follows:
‘As you know, this Christmas is different than years past. We are battling a global pandemic that has affected all of us, yet, through this great challenge, we have been inspired by the kindness and courage of citizens across this country.’
After Melania recounts some of the frontline work that has unfolded throughout the pandemic, Donald begins to praise the vaccine, commenting:
‘We are delivering millions of doses of a safe and effective vaccine that will soon end this terrible pandemic and save millions and millions of lives. We’re grateful for all of the scientists, researchers, manufacturing workers, and service members who have worked tirelessly to make this breakthrough possible.’

The president may wish to praise service workers as part of the White House’s public holiday spectacle, but in reality, Trump just recently indicated that he’s keen on potentially vetoing the pending COVID-19 relief package as it stands at present, complaining about included foreign aid and demanding higher direct payments for individual Americans. Rather than offering any kind of apparent meaningful follow-through on this demand, the president has promptly retreated to south Florida for the holidays, where he went golfing.
