According to a new report from CNN, in the time before she won her Congressional seat, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) repeatedly indicated support for executing prominent Democrats. Greene made these shows of support via Facebook, where she repeatedly liked comments that directly called for deadly violence against individuals like Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.). In one incident, after Greene herself made a White House petition calling for Pelosi’s impeachment on account of supposed “treason,” Greene insisted, on video, that Pelosi’s behavior constituted a “crime punishable by death.” In another instance, Greene liked a comment stating that “a bullet to the head would be quicker” to get Pelosi out of power.
What an obscene joke all this is.
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy will have 'conversation' with Marjorie Taylor Greene after her 'disturbing' comments on social media https://t.co/0fiyczgqP9 via @Yahoo

In a rambling statement on her personal Twitter account, Greene blamed “teams of people” supposedly managing her “pages” for social media activity like that which CNN revealed, although she did not explain why she supposedly had “teams of people” responsible for her social media presence while living as a private citizen who, at one point, founded and sold a CrossFit gym.
It's hard to talk about "unity" and "moving on" when we're just learning about how Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene repeatedly indicated support for executing prominent Democratic politicians in 2018 and 2019 before being elected to Congress https://t.co/00BhjD47Ej

As she put it:
‘Over the years, I’ve had teams of people manage my pages. Many posts have been liked. Many posts have been shared. Some did not represent my views. Especially the ones that CNN is about to spread across the internet.’
She did not elaborate on this claim. Instead, she complained that CNN is supposedly attempting to “cancel” and “silence” her, insisting that the network is “coming after” her because she represents a “threat to their goal of Socialism.” She also insisted that CNN wants to “take [her] out” and characterized the network as the “enemy of the American people,” yet again resorting to cultish rhetoric. All of this ranting is unhinged nonsense that doesn’t reflect the basic reality of the world around Greene. CNN isn’t conspiring to punitively “cancel” leading Republicans to try and protect “their goal of Socialism” — they’re presenting basic, documented facts while Greene sticks to ignorance.
After @allymutnick & I uncovered a trove of racist videos from Greene, McCarthy condemned her comments & said he had no tolerance for it.
Then, to the anger of some in GOP, he did nothing to stop her from winning her primary.
This week she was officially given committee seats https://t.co/iqTuU12Ddf

As another apparent attempted defense, Greene has delusionally accused “Antifa/BLM terrorism funded on ActBlue” of inciting “insurrection.” In reality, Democrats — like those who benefit from the ActBlue fundraising tool — have repeatedly offered unequivocal public condemnations of all violence. Nevertheless, Greene’s unhinged secret funding conspiracies went on — in one instance, CNN says, she referred to Parkland shooting survivor and gun safety activist David Hogg as a “bought and paid little pawn.” A video emerged this week of an incident when Greene belligerently harassed Hogg (and others) on the streets of D.C. — check out the footage below:
My, God. This lady chasing and harassing @davidhogg111 thru the streets of Capitol Hill is deeply disturbing and cookoo-crazy. This woman is a Member of Congress, paid by our tax-dollars. Republicans need to ask themselves, what the hell kind of Party elects this type of nut-job. https://t.co/9jjvV2uDUv

Although she has distanced herself from the remarks, Greene has also previously expressed support for the QAnon conspiracy theory, an unhinged far-right system of beliefs claiming that prominent Democrats are secretly murderers and Satanists. In a more recent incident, she wore a face mask with the message “Trump Won” while working at the Capitol — the idea that Trump won the recent presidential election is, however, fantasyland-level nonsense.
