Lauren Boebert Insults Obama During Rage Filled Saturday Meltdown

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.), an incendiary first-term Congresswoman, is continuing her effort to… rant on Twitter, or something. As her time in Congress drags on, she’s keeping up the pace of her Twitter posts. On Saturday, the targets of her vitriol included former President Barack Obama, protesters associated with the Black Lives Matter movement, and others. At one point, she complained that the Biden administration initially planned to vaccinate detainees at Guantanamo Bay, where 40 people are in detention — and she did not even mention the early Saturday report from POLITICO stating that “Biden’s team is still trying to get a firm grasp on the whereabouts of more than 20 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine” that the federal government previously purchased and distributed to states.

Boebert ranted as follows:

‘The Biden administration has moved Gitmo detainees to the front of the line for COVID-19 vaccines. We’ve gone from America First to Terrorists First in the most literal of ways.’

Did she even bother attempting to actually understand the mechanics of the issue? The vaccinations were planned because COVID-19 has been hampering efforts to hold war crimes hearings for those held at Guantanamo. On Saturday afternoon, Defense Department spokesman John Kirby announced that the Biden administration was “pausing” the vaccination plan for detainees. Meanwhile, the Biden administration is still struggling to account for millions of vaccine doses that are unaccounted for in the wake of the Trump administration’s haphazard at best rollout… but it’s unclear whether Boebert even tried to engage with the issue to a point that would have revealed this info to her.

Boebert seems far more concerned with hollow optics than the actual work of getting necessary assistance to the American people. A major problem, of course, is that she’s far from alone within the Republican Party, which has openly enabled behavior from individuals like her and fellow first-term Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), the latter of whom previously openly discussed a possible execution of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).

At another point on Saturday, Boebert complained about Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen’s previous earnings in speaking fees — without mentioning the substantial sums of money that ex-President Donald Trump got from all sorts of political interests that patronized his family business. She also complained about a Nobel Peace Prize nomination for Black Lives Matter demonstrators, mockingly characterizing the group as “mostly peaceful,” although to suggest that any substantial “Black Lives Matter” organization supports violence is ridiculous. Isolated instances of rioting amidst a sea of peaceful protests do not erase basic reality.
