“This year’s Valentine’s Day I will enjoy long romantic walks on Valentine’s Day to the fridge.” Lisa Hanock-Jasie pretty much summed up what the coronavirus pandemic has done to America. Yet, we awake a little thrilled, feeling a renewed sense of hope nearly forgotten over the past four years. That hope springs from President Joe Biden and one other.
President Barack Obama married an exceptionally strong woman. Former First Lady Michelle Obama was originally his boss. That was how they met. Today, he found himself surrounded by his wife and two additional strong women, his daughters, Sasha and Malia. His eldest daughter is a senior at Harvard University, and his youngest daughter is a sophomore at the University of Michigan.
So what have these two intelligent young women been doing? Their dad said in The People magazine:
‘Malia and Sasha have been with us almost continuously since March, with just a few breaks’
President Obama sent these three women this Valentine:
‘Happy Valentine’s Day to the three who never fail to make me smile. Your dazzling light makes everything brighter.’
The former first lady told Conan O’Brien:
“We’ve kind of had phases of COVID. There were sort of the early stages where we were all excited to be together and we were being all organized and we would spend the days apart doing our respective work, the girls were still in classes in the spring, so we would be working and then doing a little exercise and coming together in the evenings and we would have these activities” like puzzles and games and an “art exhibit day.’
