Biden Erases Trump By Overturning Policy That Punished ‘Blue’ Cities

President Joe Biden has been moving across the Executive Branch with a steamroller squeezing out all the swamp water left by the previous administration. The breadth and depth of Biden’s actions, major and minor, is truly stunning. His decades of being a senator and two terms as the vice president show in the professional, expert, and experience team he has pulled together and make him one of the most effective presidents in history. Take a look at what he just did.

We have only begun to discover all that the former president has done to undermine our democracy. The truly paranoid former president’s abhorrent enemies-under-his-bed attitude led him to label New York City an “anarchist jurisdiction.” By doing so, he believed that he could prevent New York City from receiving federal funding, according to The New York Daily News.

At the time, Attorney General William Barr indicated that this was Trump’s diabolical way of punishing Democrat cities, never mind that Republicans lived there, too. Typically, people do not check out the mayor’s and governor’s political parties before moving.

The former president had signed an order telling the federal agencies to review all grants and funds to the “anarchist” aka Democratically-led cities, then halt funding. He believed these city leaders were  “permitting anarchy, violence, and destruction.”

Barr continued, saying this was also the president’s way of retaliating after its leaders refused to allow Trump to send in the National Guard troops to fight racial justice protesters who occasionally became violent. It is still not clear whether the protesters caused the violence or white nationalist infiltrators were responsible.

The former attorney general said:

‘It is my hope that the cities identified by the Department of Justice today will reverse course and become serious about performing the basic function of government and start protecting their own citizens.’

This week President Joe Biden was able to rescind the former White House resident’s order and return New York City to a federal fund recipient.

Shortly after a reporter asked the White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki whether the new president had plans to do away with the order, it was rescinded. Psaki said:

‘We are a new administration. We, of course, are reviewing a range of policies and charting our own path.’

The Biden administration released a statement that rolled back Trump’s September 20, 2020 order.

The ex-president’s order included other cities, including Seattle, Washington and Portland, Oregon. At this time, we do not know whether it kept any funds from going out.

At the time, New Yorkers had a lot of poking fun at what was considered a ridiculous idea, because it was so absurd. A host of tongue-in-cheek photos appeared on the internet reflecting the “horrors” of being forced to live in an “anarchist” city. But maybe, it was not so funny after all.

The House controls the nation’s purse strings, so theoretically, Trump’s order was toothless. However, it is possible that federal employees followed his orders. Watch this space.
