Biden Reverses Another Trump Immigration Policy

We knew that Donald Trump and his cruelty master and advisor Stephen Miller separated children from their mothers. Guards pulled infants away from their nursing mothers. But we could not imagine how much worse these two warped minds made the situation. The new Secretary of Homeland Security(HHS) Alejandro Mayorkas barely brushed the surface of the depravity inflicted up people legally claiming asylum.

He announced that Trump had “totally dismantled the entire department of Homeland Security.” And then, he said that he and his employees would have to “build out of the depths of cruelty.”

Psychologists have pointed out that what these children experienced was akin to torture. They were literally locked in cages, on cold floors with one mylar blanket. In many cases, young children were trying to care for the young ones.

Sometimes the children had to take turns sleeping, because there was not enough room for all of them to lie down at the same time. The lights were on 24/7. There were not enough diapers or food at some places.

Mayorkas used the term “cruelty” a number of times while he was at the White House press’ podium on Monday. This was part of his plea for time. What Trump rent asunder, the HHS secretary would have to build back, complete with the COVID-19 pandemic raging around him.

President Joe Biden will let families who were separated at the border by Trump and his merry band of cruelty-mongers reunite. Indeed, these families will be allowed to stay in the U.S. Mayorkas said:

‘We are hoping to reunite the families, either here or in their country of origin. We hope to be in a position to give them the election. And if, in fact, they seek to reunite here in the United States, we will explore lawful pathways for them to remain in the United States.’

The secretary of HHS further announced the Biden administration’s Family Separation Policy would unite while Donald Trump’s policy divided. The ex-president separated about 2,800 families in 2018 alone. While a number of the children were reconnected to their families, 550 of the children have not been able to be returned to their parents.

Mayorkas also serves as President Biden’s head of the Child Reunification Task Force. He said that the Biden White House had reunited 105 families, thus far. First Lady Jill Biden has a special interest in this, which will help the secretary expedite issues. She has taken on being the force, as she “spearheaded” the task force.

Mayorkas said:

‘Well, actually, the Trump administration expelled children to Mexico, and we are not expelling young children. We are not apprehending a nine-year-old child who’s come alone, who has traversed Mexico, whose loving parents had sent that child alone.’

‘We’re not expelling that nine-year-old child to Mexico when that child’s country of origin was Guatemala, Honduras, or El Salvador. We are actually bringing that child into a Border Patrol station, as a stepping point to get that child in the hands of HHS that has the capacity and the unique talents to care for the child.’

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said:

‘We are taking a look at where efficiencies can be achieved in the best interest of the child. It is the best interest of the child that really define our actions.’
