Recently, Prince Harry of England — whose full name is Harry Charles Albert David — and his wife, Meghan Markle, who is biracial, sat for an interview with Oprah Winfrey in which they discussed some of the struggles that they have faced while in the spotlight. Markle in particular said that some of the pressure that she faced, which has included racism, got so bad that she found herself contemplating suicide. Like an eager troll, none other than Donald Trump Jr. released his own video message in response to the interview, maligning Markle herself as somehow deserving of pressure that she has faced.
Trump Jr. commented, in part, as follows:
‘Are we pretending that Meghan Markle isn’t the kind of person that was looking for all of this attention? Because it seems like literally all of her actions in life up until now were about getting that kind of attention for herself. She just wants it to be good attention. The problem is, if you don’t have the personality to do that, it doesn’t always work out as much.’
Amazingly, Trump Jr. subsequently mockingly compared Markle’s stated issues with her treatment within the Royal Family to a theoretical situation in which he himself said that it was “terrible to have to live at Mar-a-Lago.” The thing is — Trump Jr.’s own father has, since taking up residence at the Trump Organization’s Mar-a-Lago resort following his exit from the White House, publicly complained about the so-called “political persecution” that he is supposedly facing. Pretending like the Trumps don’t basically fit a dictionary definition of an egotistical persecution complex is laughable, and on the flip side, pretending like Markle is somehow deserving of any of the pressure that she’s faced is despicable.
Trump Jr. subsequently belligerently added as follows, after glibly recounting his own experience of meeting the Queen of England:
‘Are we really pretending that [Markle is] a victim of all of this, that she wasn’t into the press? Has she every met a camera she probably didn’t love? Are we really pretending that? I actually feel bad for Harry. He’s like a guy in a hostage video… I’m not sure what’s happened to him over the last couple years… I feel like he’s… been brainwashed into some sort of woke reality perhaps missing the real reality of what’s going on in the world and some of the hypocrisy of what’s going on around that.’
So, following Trump’s departure from the White House, Trump Jr. has been reduced to ranting into a computer camera about the Royal Family.
