She lost her children in her divorce and is understandably bitter, so how good is the word of Jennifer Weisselberg, whose former father-in-law is Donald Trump’s money man? She has spoken to the Manhattan District Attorney’s (DA) Office “multiple times” about Allen Weisselberg. So, what information doe she have that the DA wants?

Weisselberg said DA Cyrus Vance’s investigators were asking for details about her former father-in-law the long-time Trump Organization’s chief financial officer (CEO). This Trump executive has worked for Trump “for decades”.

Ms. Weisselberg may be the best the DA has with a close outsider’s insight into the Trump money machine. The DA can parallel her remarks with the Trump Organization’s financial records to give them more credibility.

She spoke to NBC News for her first televised interview, noting Weisselberg also worked for Fred Trump, the ex-president’s father:

‘He discusses everything with him, And Donald trusts him to continue the legacy the way his father set things up.’

She told reporters that her father-in-law “loves” his job, and it “defined his worth.”

Jennifer Weisselberg was married to the CEO’s son, Barry Weisselberg for 14 years. Their marriage ended in 2018. Her husband managed the Central Park ice-rink, which is run by the Trump Organization. The former ballet dancer said she has turned over documents to Vance’s investigators. But she refused to go into detail on her discussions with them, “citing the sensitive nature of the probe:”

‘I think it’s important that I don’t compromise the investigation.’

Jennifer and the CEO’s son lived in a Trump-owned Central Park apartment as a rent-free bonus, starting in 2004 for a few years. This was a generous wedding gift from the Donald:

‘I wrote them a thank you note.’

Bloomberg News first reported that the property was owned by the Trump Organization. Depending upon how it was credited for accounting purposes, there could be a problem for both her ex-husband and Trump.

Jennifer Weisselberg said the only bill they were responsible for. paying during their stay was the utilities, which ran about $400 per month. The Trump Organization sold this corporate apartment in 2014 for $2.85 million. Donald J. Trump’s signature was on the dotted line.

She was well aware of the Trump Organization’s strategy to ensure loyalty:

‘They control people by compensating you with homes and things. It’s not easy to walk away when they provide your home.’

‘It absolutely defines who they are. Allen would not take an hour or day off if Donald was in the office because I think he felt like he had to be there all the time.’

Going public is one of Jennifer’s few tools against her ex-husband:

‘I have no reason to be here except that I am not a woman who is willing to live a life of secrecy, out of fear, any longer. They will out resource me in the courts forever, and I have tried to be graceful, and I have tried to handle this privately. And they are not agreeing to do so at all. What choice do I have?’
