President Biden is picking up the rug from under the existing American government and giving it a good shake. As we watch the Grand Old Party (GOP) is going through its machinations and possibly its death throes, because its leaders refuse to change. Biden is leading a dynamic party, shaking loose all the deadwood and dead ideas.
The president knows his business. He has been rolling out changes all over his administration. Pretty impressive. Many have been to repair the damage that the previous president left behind, which is quite significant. All the while, he is vaccinating up to 300 million Americans at three million to four million shots per day. But there is more.
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki defended President Biden’s Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, a four-decade-long U.S. Foreign Service employee. Her service included, according to NBC News:
‘[Her service included:] serving as United States Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, Director General of the United States Foreign Service and Director of Human Resources, United States Ambassador to Liberia, Deputy Assistant Secretary, Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration, and Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for African Affairs, among others.’
Americans’ founding fathers were racist, owned slaves, and wrote documents reflecting that attitude. Back then, a slave counted as merely three-fifths of a human being. Women could not vote at all for well over a century after that. The ambassador just spoke the truth.
Thomas-Greenfield was confirmed by a bipartisan vote in the Senate, 78-20, for her current position of Ambassador to the United Nations (UN). She was once assigned as Ambassador to Italy according to ItalianAmbassor.gov. But now Republicans and the far right do not like her.
In a press conference, Newsmax White House Correspondent Emerald Robinson tried to start an argument. She asked should President Joe Biden agree with any criticism from China? She continued, asking whether the USA should “bow down to any attack” from China. Then, Robinson tried to dive-bomb Psaki against Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield.
In essence, she said “white supremacy is woven into our founding documents and principles:”
‘This statement is getting widely criticized as essentially parroting Chinese Communist Party talking points. So is the President going to remove her from her position as the representative before that body to promote United States values?’
Ever the professional communicator, Psaki said:
“Is the President going to remove an African American woman with decades of experience in the Foreign Service who is widely respected around the world from her position as Ambassador to the UN? He is not.
‘He is proud to have her in that position. She is not only qualified, he believes she is exactly the right person in that role at this moment in time. I have not seen her comments, I will say that there’s no question that there has been a history of institutional racism in this country, and that doesn’t require the UN ambassador to confirm that.’
Robinson complained about Ambassador Robinson’s remarks, saying:
‘[They are] essentially the same lecture though that the Chinese delegation gave Secretary Blinken in Alaska last month. So does the President think our founding documents are racist?’
The Press Secretary continued:
‘I would say that, I will, I will leave my comments to speak for themselves, and certainly I think most people recognize the history of systemic racism in our country, and she was speaking to that.’
