Delaware Judge Craig Karsnitz has formally revoked his previous permission for far-right attorney Lin Wood to represent ex-Trump adviser Carter Page in a defamation lawsuit, and now, Wood has appealed that revocation, claiming — incredibly — that he has a “stellar” reputation.

In reality, Wood has consistently associated himself with utterly unhinged conspiracy theories about the integrity of the 2020 presidential election to the point that Wood once openly called for the execution of then-Vice President Mike Pence, who certain Trump supporters have claimed didn’t ally himself closely enough with the fight against the election outcome. Wood has also worked closely with far-right attorney Sidney Powell, a one-time member of former President Trump’s own legal team.

Originally, Karsnitz described Wood’s behavior as a “toxic stew of mendacity, prevarication and surprising incompetence” — which seems like a generous description. In the time since Karsnitz’s original order earlier this year, Wood made a series of posts on his account on a communication platform called Telegram where he claimed that he was at the White House looking for Joe Biden but found Trump in the Oval Office instead. Needless to say — Wood did not find Trump in the Oval Office last month, and an image that he posted of himself with Trump at the White House originally went up on Wood’s own Twitter account last year. Wood’s public antics are not in touch with reality.

In the lawsuit in which Wood has been attempting to represent Page, the ex-Trump adviser complained that articles from Oath — a parent company to Yahoo News and HuffPost — “portrayed him as a traitor to America.” Page was the subject of surveillance by federal authorities in connection to the Russia investigation, although this surveillance did not unfold while he was associated with Trump and thus did not constitute the spying on the Trump campaign that the former president has alleged unfolded. There was no spying on the Trump campaign according to any reasonable understanding of the idea.

Meanwhile, Wood isn’t the only attorney affiliated with conspiracy theories about the election facing legal troubles. Sidney Powell is facing a $1.3 billion defamation lawsuit from Dominion Voting Systems, a voting technology company that was the subject of some of her conspiracies.
