Former President Donald Trump is continuing his tradition of utterly wacko public statements.
This Sunday — Mother’s Day — he issued a statement calling the horse that recently won this year’s iteration of the Kentucky Derby a “junky,” which, first of all, isn’t how the term is spelled, and, more broadly, is a just utterly bizarre thing to say about a horse at all. Horses can’t just go take drugs of their own accord… obviously. Somehow, Trump subsequently connected high levels of an anti-inflammatory drug that were found in the system of that horse he mentioned to the imaginary election fraud that he has consistently claimed is responsible for Joe Biden’s victory.
Trump said that the discovery of high drug levels coursing through that Derby-winning horse’s system was “emblematic of what is happening to our Country,” which is just.. embarrassing. In his wild statement, he said as follows:
‘So now even our Kentucky Derby winner, Medina Spirit, is a junky. This is emblematic of what is happening to our Country. The whole world is laughing at us as we go to hell on our Borders, our Fake Presidential Election, and everywhere else!’

Obviously, the presidential election was not “fake,” but Trump clearly has no intention of ever abandoning his baseless assertion that he was fraudulently robbed of a second term in office. Republicans across the country have long since proven their willingness to follow along in his delusions, no matter how reality-disconnected.
