Trump’s Blog Shuts Down As Personal Collapse Accelerates

The blog that former President Donald Trump was using to share tweet-like messages with his followers has gone offline — permanently. Trump was banned from major social media platforms including Facebook and Twitter earlier this year after his incitement of the deadly January violence at the Capitol, so the former president was using his blog, which was housed on his personal website, to try and make up for the lost reach. Now, the page that once displayed Trump’s blog just shows an option to sign up for Trump’s contact list. Trump adviser Jason Miller confirmed that the blog isn’t coming back.

Why exactly that the blog went offline wasn’t immediately clear — Trump had been using it fairly regularly. Miller told CNBC that the blog ‘will not be returning,” adding that the page “was just auxiliary to the broader efforts we have and are working on.” There’s been talk of a potential new social media platform led by the former president, but that has yet to materialize. Miller added to CNBC that he is “Hoping to have more information on the broader efforts soon” but said that he does “not have a precise awareness of timing.”

Prominent Trump supporter and MyPillow founder/CEO Mike Lindell attempted to roll out his own social media platform recently, calling it “Frank” (as in speaking frankly), but that hasn’t exactly gone great. The website for “Frank” displays a function for visitors to submit phone numbers to receive confirmation codes with which to access the site, but the site also discusses “When Frank launches officially” as though it’s still a future event. After entering a phone number, users can find large quantities of video content listed as from the official “Frank” team. The video content pushes familiar lies about the integrity of the 2020 presidential election and other topics.
