He was a former New York City police officer and before that a once a Marine, always a Marine. Yet, the latest video shows that he beat a Capitol Police officer with a flag pole carrying a Marine flag. When that did not work any longer, he began punching the officer. Why?
Former Defense Secretary Chuch Hagel said on MSNBC’s Live with Stephanie Ruhle:Â
‘Donald Trump’s big lie has polarized the country in terrible ways…[people have] fallen prey to crazies that have spread the lies…the news media is the enemy of the people….we all suffer from that…how deep is extremism in the body of an institution?’
Stacy Hager spoke about how he felt with around the men armed with bullhorns ordering “patriots move forward,” and how that ended up with his arrest. He posted his recall of the January 6 day’s events on his Facebook page, which has since been removed.
Hager wrote on his Facebook page, according to federal authorities, that he felt “invincible” while he was climbing the wall surrounding the Capitol and that was “the wall that divides sane and insane:”
‘This was the wall that divides sane and insane, civil and disobedient, frantic and mayhem, relative safety and imminent danger.’
In the photos of the January 6 insurrection, Hager was visible in a “Trump” baseball cap. He was also seen talking to a “District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department officer outside the Capitol.”
The officer told Hager, as the federal records revealed:
‘Nah, nah, I get it, you are just walking up behind our line.’
The documents read that Hager replied, The Waco Tribune-Herald:
‘Actually that was my purpose.’ The MPD officer continued, “If you could not, we are all trying to stay safe and get home.” Hager replied, ‘I know you are and I really appreciate y’all.” However, Hager continued to walk past the MPD officer and through the barricades where he was instructed by police not to go.’
Hager, 57, was charged with “violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds:”
 ‘[K]nowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or ground without lawful authority; disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds; violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds; and parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building.’
Apparently, Hager’s post, photos, and description of the part he played in the riot in the failed coup that led FBI special agents to arrest him. But once again like so many other White Nationalists, he was released on a personal recognizance bond. Federal prosecutors did not go hard on having him detained.
Thus far, 450 individuals have been arrested for January 6 activities.
