Well, great. Would you not know it, the former Attorney General (AG) Bill Barr’s biggest claim in his new book is dramatic and surprising. And we cannot say it aloud. Oh sure, we can do this “bull—-” and make everyone guess bullpost? bullshot? bulldodo? That last one should be doodoo, but you know, four blanks. Or we can pull out its much weaker tea cousin “BS.” Check this out.
AG Barr pulled the shade down on his old boss, the ex-president of these United States. ABC News Chief Washington Correspondent Jonathan Karl has written a new book Betrayal about Donald Trump’s final days in office. In it, he quoted Barr saying that the old man’s claim of election fraud was “bull—-.”
The Atlantic magazine published an excerpt from the upcoming book this weekend, Inside William Barr’s Breakup with Trump. It gave us a glimpse into the former AG’s mind and what he thought of Donald Trump’s Big Lie. He said that the 2020 presidential election was not a fraud. During an interview with Karl, Barr explained why he okayed an unofficial prosecutors’ investigation into the then-president’s claims.
‘My attitude was: It was put-up or shut-up time. If there was evidence of fraud, I had no motive to suppress it. But my suspicion all the way along was that there was nothing there. It was all bull—-.’
Barr added that Trump’s claims of voting matching altered to switch his votes to President Joe Biden were all part of the Big Lie:
‘We realized from the beginning it was just bull—-. It’s a counting machine, and they save everything that was counted. So you just reconcile the two. There had been no discrepancy reported anywhere, and I’m still not aware of any discrepancy.’
The former AG, who pressed to get into the Trump administration originally, said former Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) wanted him to discredit the Big Lie. According to Barr, the claim damaged America and the Grand Old Party (GOP), especially in Georgia. McConnell was right about that. The state’s two Democratic contenders threw the Senate to the Dems.
Karl guest-hosted with ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos and said what he really thought:
‘There was nothing there. No evidence of widespread fraud…that Caused a big breakup with Donald Trump. Chapter and verse on these allegations, and why it was all BS.’
Longtime Democratic political strategist, campaign manager, and political analyst served as acting Chair of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), Donna Brazile said:
‘Voting is at the heart of our nation.’
McConnell talked to Barr:
‘Look, we need the president in Georgia. And so we cannot be frontally attacking him right now. But you’re in a better position to inject some reality into this situation. You are really the only one who can do it.’
The former AG responded:
‘I understand that. And I’m going to do it at the appropriate time.’
It seemed that Trump raged against Barr for that comment using another four-letter word “f—-:”
‘How the f— could you do this to me? Why did you say it?’
Apparently, the head of the Department of Justice (DOJ) responded with this:
‘Because it’s true.’
Then, the all-or-nothing president responded:
‘You must hate Trump. You must hate Trump.’
There was never enough.
