Urgent Legal Disbarment For Rudy Giuliani Over ‘The Big Lie’ Demanded In St Louis

The Big Lie has fallen across America like a molting chicken. It is ugly. And it is distasteful, but worse, it undermines democracy and divides the country. Donald Trump gave his first rally, since January 6, The New York Times reported. It was clear that he relishes tearing the country into not two but a thousand. His is the lie that eats at Democracy’s curtain like a herd of moths set free in a closet. Remember everything Donald Trump touches dies. As the ex-president’s attorney, we were under the impression that Rudy Giuliani was only practicing, not performing law anyway.

Those who fall under 45’s mesmerizing words find themselves in a perilous wasteland. We do not know whether the former New York City mayor was mesmerized or he came close to Trump’s flame because he saw a shadow of himself in that house of mirrors. But his law license has been suspended. People across the nation have started to call for his disbarment. Of course, after carrying out the work of devilment, it was as if the soul of old Rudy leaked from the top of his head in a brown stain.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch editorial board has called for his disbarment. Ditto for the rest of the Trump legal team. Those lawyers have actively carried the corners of the Big Lie across the nation like a flag of fatalism. The nation was not “stolen,” but integrity was. The Appellate Division of the New York Supreme Court suspended the former mayor’s license last week as they considered “disciplinary action.”

The newspaper wrote:

‘After the rabbit-hole atmosphere. Giuliani’s permanent disbarment should follow, and other Trump lawyers who participated in that dangerous sham should face the same sanction.’

The editors said that there had been “months of steady lies:”

‘No one believes the insurrectionists of Jan. 6 were whipped up solely by that day’s rally near the Capitol. Their attack on democracy was fueled by months of steady lies from Trump and his cohorts, Giuliani chief among them.’

Then, they suggested a “purge” of those who spread the Big Lie:

‘There’s no way to prevent politicians from lying. But a thorough purge from the profession of attorneys who furthered Trump’s big lie would send a strong message to other political lawyers about their duty to the truth.’

After that, they pointed out how Giuliani claimed “tens of thousands of dead people voted:”

‘Ditto with other bogus Giuliani allegations: that tens of thousands of dead people voted in Philadelphia; that voting machines in Georgia manipulated the numbers; that a security video Giuliani publicized, purporting to show illegal ballots being spirited into an empty ballot-counting room, had been meticulously edited so viewers wouldn’t know the ballots were already there and that the room was full of people.’

Last, they called out Giuliani’s claim that his “lies did no harm:”

‘Is he kidding? No one believes the insurrectionists of Jan. 6 were whipped up solely by that day’s rally near the Capitol. Their attack on democracy was fueled by months of steady lies from Trump and his cohorts, Giuliani chief among them. As the court’s ruling notes: “False statements intended to foment a loss of confidence in our elections and resulting loss of confidence in government generally damage the proper functioning of a free society.’
