They thought that Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) was simply acting out, that she was on a continual attention-seeking mission. But then, things took a darker turn. Greene is the one who chased two high school students down a Washington D.C. sidewalk. She told them that she was carrying a gun. The kids had just gone through a mass shooting at their school. The gunman had just shot and killed 17 of their classmates and teachers.

The shooter also shot and wounded 17 others at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. The far more mature students ignored her even though she persisted in harassing them.

In the years leading up to her win in Georgia, Greene noted that she supported executing prominent Democrats.

Nearly 40 House Democrats put their names on a letter to House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) Thursday. They called upon the minority leader “in the strongest terms to take immediate action” to deal with Greene’s conduct, CNN reported.

They pointed out that she also harassed Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in 2019 and beyond. A video captured one incident, but it has since been deleted, according to The Forbes Magazine.

It showed Greene following AOC out of the chamber shouting, The Washington Post reported:

‘Greene followed after Ocasio-Cortez as the two left the chamber after a vote, shouting “hey Alexandria” and accusing her of supporting “terrorists and Antifa’

Ocasio-Cortez said this about Greene in The Washington Post video:

‘I’m concerned about her perceptions of reality.’

The letter wrote that they feared Greene’s actions might turn violent against the Democrats:

‘These behaviors only appear to be escalating, with her recent comments at a rally to lock up a colleague. [Greene is creating an] unsafe work environment for members.’

The legislators also included McCarthy’s previous statement in which he told Greene that representatives in the U.S. Congress must be responsible for a “higher standard” given their office:

‘We firmly agree with you that we, as members of Congress, have a responsibility to conduct ourselves to a higher standard. We are elected by our constituents to do the people’s work. While we may disagree on the policies, the members of this venerated institution have demonstrated for centuries that we are capable of treating each other with respect and dignity.’

‘Her past comments now have much greater meaning. Marjorie recognized this in our conversation. I hold her to her word, as well as her actions going forward.’

The legislators’ letter continued:

‘Rep. Greene’s conduct does not comport with what we expect from a member of the House of Representatives. Everyone has a right to a workplace free from harassment and abuse, including members of Congress. We urge you in the strongest terms to take immediate action to address Rep. Greene’s behavior.’

Greene responded to the letter by calling them liars and “Communists:”

‘It’s absurd Democrats accuse me of creating an environment of harassment for speaking at a Trump rally and defining them as who they are: Communists.’

‘I receive constant harassment in public caused by the Democrat lies promoted by the media. Democrats singled me out and kicked me off committees for doing nothing wrong, and the death threats haven’t stopped since. And now the witch hunt continues in an attempt to overturn my 2020 election and kick me out of Congress.’

Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) had an office near Greene’s, but shortly after she arrived, she moved to another office. She said that she feared for her own safety. Bush tweeted:

‘“A maskless Marjorie Taylor Greene & her staff berated me in a hallway. She targeted me & others on social media. I’m moving my office away from hers for my team’s safety. I’ve called for the expulsion of members who incited the insurrection from Day 1. Bring H.Res 25 to a vote.’

Bush said:

‘I was walking with my staff to vote. I was in the tunnel between the Cannon Office Building and the Capitol when Marjorie Taylor Greene came up from behind me, ranting loudly into her phone while not wearing a mask.’

‘Out of concern for the health of my staff, other members of Congress, and their congressional staff, I repeatedly called out to her to put on a mask. Taylor Greene and her staff responded by berating me, with one staffer yelling, “Stop inciting violence with Black Lives Matter.”’

Greene even posted an anti-transgender sign at her office, which was directly across the hall from a lawmaker who has a transgender child, according to CNN.
