During a recent appearance on CNN, Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) — one of the few Republicans in Congress who have been willing to speak out in opposition to former President Trump’s extremism — expressed his steadfast support for voting GOP election liars out of Congress. As Kinzinger put it, “we need to make sure” that those who have been “lying to the American people” never “win an election again.” To that end, Kinzinger has founded a political action committee known as Country First, which brought in $1.1 million in donations in the first quarter of this year alone.
On a related note, Kinzinger was one of ten House Republicans who voted in favor of impeaching Trump on a charge of inciting insurrection after the January riot at the Capitol and one of just two House Republicans who supported the recent creation of a House committee to investigate that riot, which ex-President Trump inspired with his delusional election lies.
Discussing the path ahead for the United States, Kinzinger commented as follows while on CNN:
‘I think it’s so important for us just to have conversation again. And it’s going to take my friends on the left being willing to reach out, and not constantly pointing and saying, you didn’t do enough then, and restoring that conversation. That’s why I started Country First… to just say, learn to talk to each other again, because we’re not going to be able to yell our way out of this. And we need to take those that are lying to the American people, and we need to make sure they never win an election again.’

Republicans in office have repeatedly misrepresented the real integrity of last year’s presidential election. In what is no doubt the most infamous example of this deception, a full 147 Republicans from across both chambers of Congress voted against certifying Biden’s election victory, despite the fact that no credible governmental authority anywhere in the country has ever confirmed the claim that there were systematic election integrity problems last year. State authorities, including Democrats and Republicans, in every single state attested to the validity of their states’ results, with rounds and rounds of security checks at every meaningful level. In Georgia alone, every presidential election vote was counted three times. Is there anything at all that would get these people to acknowledge the truth?
