The Fox personalities do not have to wear masks. They have people who do that for them. But days ago, they have turned into true believers in the coronavirus and vaccines. Oh, it is not that they care about their viewers. They probably figure they could lose a couple of million without breaking a sweat. But they do care about any possibility of financial and criminal liability. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) apparently believes that just like her leader Donald Trump, she is immune from the virus and any residual responsibility.
But you are no Donald Trump are you, Representative Greene? Or is she? We never saw it before, but now that we think of it, there may be a more than passing resemblance. Both have that arrogant demeanor. Both are blonde. What? That is it, is that not enough? Now, she is showing the country how she can sue to her little heart’s content, too. Oh, that is something else they have in common — little heart.
Greene and two other Republicans just lost an appeal before the House Committee on Ethics. She and Representatives Thomas Massie (R-KY) and Ralph Norman (R-SC) will have to pay $500 fines for violating Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) Covid mask mandate, according to The Forbes Magazine.
On May 20, 2021, the Committee received identical notifications from the Office of the Sergeant at Arms that Representative Ralph Norman:
‘[P]ursuant to House Resolution 38 and House Rule II, clause 3(g). Representative ____ filed an appeal with the Committee on June 16, 2021, after the Committee adopted its written rules. Pursuant to House Resolution 38 and clause 3(g)(3)(C) of House Rule II, upon receipt of an appeal after the Committee adopts its written rules, the Committee has 30 days to consider the appeal, and the fine will be upheld unless the appeal is agreed to by a majority of the Committee.’
Greene argued in a rambling script:
‘[The rule] violates the Twenty-Seventh Amendment to the United States Constitution, the First Amendment to the United States Constitution, the Fifth Amendment to the United States Constitution, and the Eighth Amendment to the United States Constitution.’
Other Republicans who waged a “courageous” mask protest last May only earned a warning.
According to a CNN survey of members of Congress:
‘100 percent of Democrats in the House and Senate said they had been vaccinated. But just 44.8 percent of Republican House members and 92 percent of GOP senators said they’d gotten the jab.’
Pelosi reminded them:
‘[T]he House is following the guidance of the attending physician, who has stated that the present mask requirements and other guidelines remain unchanged in the Hall of the House until all members and the floor staff are fully vaccinated. That is the advisory of the attending physician.’
