Things are heating up in the investigations around Donald Trump’s multi-pronged failed coup. He tried to get his attorneys general to declare the 2020 election flawed, no dice. He harangued local state officials to throw him the votes he needed. And finally, he armed his “army” with hate rhetoric and aimed them at the Capitol to overthrow Democracy. Interestingly enough, when he was talking to one of his AGs, he said that the man only had to declare the election flawed. Then he and his Republicans in the House would handle the rest. Now, who are his Republicans?
We can guess, but the evidence has yet to emerge. However, we do know that a handful of his acolytes have been actively declaring the ex-president won. They included House Minority Leader and Speaker oh-so-wannabe Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), Representatives Matt Gaetz (R-FL), and Jim Jordan (R-OH). And then there was Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA).
Now, Representative Jordan apparently will end up testifying before the House January 6 Select Committee, The Washington Post reported. Representative Liz Cheney said:’
‘He’s somebody who was involved in a number of meetings in the lead-up to what happened on January 6th, involved in planning for January 6th, certainly for the objections that day as he said publicly, so he may well be a material witness.’
But Greene certainly has been vying with him to be the most outrageous Trumpster. She was the woman who ran after victims of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland. Before she was ever in office, Greene chased them, telling them she had a gun in her purse. Crazy behavior.
Now Twitter has suspended Greene’s account for one week. Once again, she violated the company’s rules. In the tweet that finally pushed Twitter to suspend her, she wrote:
‘[The Food and Drug Administration (FDA)] should not approve the covid vaccines.’
Then, she asserted the vaccines had been “failing,” and they were ineffective at lowering the virus’s spread. Twitter called the tweet misleading, and it interrupted her account for a week, CNN reported.
Twitter spokesperson said:
‘[Her tweet]Â was labeled in line with our COVID-19 misleading information policy. The account will be in read-only mode for a week due to repeated violations of the Twitter Rules.’
Last January, the company suspended her for 12 hours for sharing conspiracy theories regarding the Georgia Senate elections. Twitter said that “violated its civic integrity policy.” Then in July, it suspended her in the same manner, but this time for misinformation regarding the coronavirus and vaccines.
Twitter’s Covid-19 misinformation policy said that users who violate their policy four times would get a one-week suspension. Violating the coronavirus five times could mean a permanent ban.
