Civility went out the window after Donald Trump blew through our democracy. In normal times, presidents who stepped down did not speak about the guy who replaced them. Of course, these are not normal times, because Trump refuses to step down, and he bleeds putrid ineptitude all over the country. But wait. There is another white-hatted in town. Check this out.
President George W. Bush has entered the ring for the greatest fight of our nation, the one to save our democracy. He stands alongside one of the few brave Republicans to call out the ex-president’s lie, Representative Liz Cheney (R-WY). President Bush announced that he will support her campaign in a hot GOP primary. Trump responded.
The former president released a statement late Wednesday via his Save America PAC. In it, he hit President Bush and his most important political adviser Karl Rove with a series of below-the-belt slurs for going with the “warmongering and very low polling, Liz Cheney.” Trump somehow managed to throw in a slam on 43’s “stupidity.” Well, that was a stupid thing for you, especially you, to do 45, Yahoo News reported:
‘Bush is the one who got us into the quicksand of the Middle East and, after spending trillions of dollars and killing nearly a million people, the Middle East was left in worse shape after 21 years than it was when he started his stupidity.’
Her father Dick Cheney (R) was the former vice president in both Bush’s terms. Bush and Rove will be holding a Cheney fundraiser in Dallas on October 18. This will be Bush’s first campaign effort for the 2022 midterms.
This will also be the first time Bush takes on Trump in a one-on-one battle. The ex should note that playing golf traveling in a golf cart does not give the same cardio results as Bush cutting brush with a chainsaw.
Then, Trump tried for a kick to President Bush’s groin. He said:
‘[The Middle East conflict] ended with Biden’s most embarrassing in history withdrawal from Afghanistan.’
Trump hates Representative Cheney for telling the truth against his lie. She also voted to impeach him, and he has been trying to knock off all of the Republicans who did so. Her vote was due to his failed coup on January 6, according to The Vanity Fair the ex-president even went so far as to endorse a primary candidate against Cheney, Harriet Hageman.
The ex-POTUS even honed in on President Bush, because he did not pardon Dick Cheney’s former chief of staff I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby for outing a CIA officer. Trump pardoned Libby in April 2018 in keeping with all of his criminal pardons.
Trump said:
‘I didn’t know Scooter, but gave him a full pardon—not at their request, but because he deserved it. He suffered greatly. Former Vice President Cheney called to effusively thank me. Now he is on the side of his daughter who is so bad for Wyoming and the United States that she is polling at record lows.’
