Digging into the Donald Trump swamp has been a treasure trove of discoveries and artifacts, but the smell is overwhelmingly rancid. Today, Michael Flynn is in the international news. Did no one notice that he was involved in building 40 nuclear power plants in Arab nations?
He stood on the ex-president’s stage performing “Lock her up!” (her being Hillary Clinton) in a stilted way. Clearly, the military guy was not used to the huckster role he had to play. Remember, Flynn was the character who believed that the U.S. government was salting salad dressing with the COVID vaccine. No, his forte appeared to be receiving money for the mass nuclear power plant projects, according to The Rolling Stone Magazine.
The general that President Barack Obama had to demote due to his unusual behavior received $200,000 for consulting work in the Middle East in 2014 and 2015. Worse, he did not reveal the secret monies for all consultation on those nuclear power plants during his time working for the former president. But a Dutch newspaper The NRC Handelsblad just broke the story.
The deal fell through, but had the nuclear Arab nations’ projects happened, construction and nuclear plant management companies from Canada, France, Russia, and the U.S. would have cashed in.
Flynn was Trump’s original NSA (National Security Adviser). But the FBI discovered that he lied about his talks with then-Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak and his undisclosed work for the Turkish government. Of course, it was illegal to lie to the FBI. Busy little guy was he not?
Former Special Counsel in the Tump-Russia investigation, Robert Mueller III, charged the former general with making false statements to the FBI. Fortunately for Flynn, Trump pardoned him in November before the ex-president left office, according to NBC News.
Flynn received his money from the U.S. company ACU Strategic Partners. The American government knew about the project, but not the consultation fee.
Two House committees also investigated his relationship to the project. The Newsweek Magazine reported that Flynn received monies for his travel expenses, between $10,000 and $15,000. He had just not bothered to mention the big payment before jumping into the NSA role. An audit by a Dutch company specializing in transport uncovered the undisclosed $200,000.
Mueller spoke to a 2017 graduating class, his granddaughter’s high school class:
‘Whatever we do, we must act with honesty and with integrity, and regardless of your chosen career, you’re only as good as your word. If you are not honest, your reputation will suffer, and once lost a good reputation can never, ever be regained.’
