NYC Ends Contract For Trump Golf Course & Donald Is Freaking Out

The problem with failing to hold someone accountable for his actions is that he loses his mind when someone actually does. After getting away with sexual harassment, sexual assault, cheating on his taxes, and extorting a foreign country, the twice-impeached ex-president who never won the popular vote is furious that he’s suffering consequences for inciting a riot against the United States’ government. New York City, however, doesn’t care if he likes it.

In July, the city of New York, Trump’s original hometown until they refused to vote for him and he decided to switch to being “from” Florida, ended all contracts with the beleaguered former reality TV game show host. One of those contracts was for Trump Golf Links at Ferry Point, a golf course in the Bronx. Trump took over the land prior to being elected president and one of the key provisions of his contract was that he would be able to attract top golf tournaments as owner. That provision was violated after multiple organizations, including the PGA, pulled out of competing at any Trump-owned property because of January 6, when Trump incited an insurrection.

According to The Wall Street Journal, lawyers for the city said argued in court that:

‘The Trump name—once a key selling point for his businesses, including [the Bronx course] and other of Trump’s golf course entities—was irretrievably tarnished.’

Although Trump’s lawyers argued that DeBlasio had no right to pull out of the contract, lawyers for the city said that Trump’s own actions had resulted in real-world consequences. The decision by the city wasn’t a political one; no one wants to be associated with the bloviated clown after he spread the Big Lie and encouraged violent extremists to commit crimes at the Capitol Building.

DeBlasio said that:

‘The president incited a rebellion against the United States government that killed five people and threatened to derail the constitutional transfer of power. The city of New York will not be associated with those unforgivable acts in any shape, way or form.’

Trump, of course, had much to say about the decision, although how much of it is true is anyone’s guess. He swears that he revitalized the land, that it had been a “money losing disaster” before he took it over, and that the course is designed for tournament play (although it’s highly unlikely any tournament wants to associate with him). In true Trump fashion, the former president who tried to force government entities to overturn an election for him insisted that the move to end the contract was something that only happens in “a Communist country.” Of course, dictators fixing elections are only something that happens in Communist countries, but Trump doesn’t want to talk about that.

In a statement, Trump said:

‘Now, under Mayor deBlasio, he wants to CONFISCATE the project from me for no reason whatsoever, and terminate my long-term arrangement with the city…so unfair – this is what happens in Communist countries, not in America!’
