She wanted to have a good time. So Jeana Ryan and a group of like-minded people hopped onto a private jet. Their mood was festive. They were all headed to Washington, D.C., the heartbeat of America’s political system. And she did have a good time.

The real estate broker said, according to The Huffington Post:

‘[It was] ‘one of the best days of my life.’

According to the FBI, she charged toward the Capitol Building promoting her real estate business on that January 6 day. Maybe she was considering turning the bastion of our democracy into condos:

‘You guys, will you believe this? I am not messing around. When I come to sell your house, this is what I will do. I will fucking sell your house.’

Ryan was “going to war” on that terrible day. A white warrior shielded against harm by her whiteness…or so she thought. And she was one of those screaming into the history of those hallowed halls:

‘Hang Mike Pence!’

Ryan live-streamed the attack on Facebook and tweeted:

‘[I]f the news doesn’t stop lying about us we’re going to come after their studios next…’

And since she was a self-proclaimed warrior, ahead of Ryan’s sentencing this week, federal prosecutors sent her to jail for 60 days:

‘[She said] she was to war [and] sought to exploit her presence during the attack on the Capitol for profit.’

Ryan tweeted that her whiteness protected her:

‘[I have] blonde hair white skin a great job a great future and I’m not going to jail.’

The prosecutors wrote:

‘A defendant who believes she is immune from strict punishment because of her race and physical appearance may reoffend because the consequences for wrongdoing will never, in the defendant’s mind, be severe even when severity is merit. Perhaps the most compelling need for specific deterrence arises from the defendant’s misguided belief that she is above the law, or at least insulated from incarceration.’

Prosecutors said Ryan had for the past 10 years:

‘[P]romoted her personal brand, touting her success as a real estate broker, self-help coach, and media personality. [Then she] drew on her considerable experience as a social media influencer to promote violence before her arrival at the Capitol.’

The Department of Justice [DOJ] sentencing memo on Court Listener indicated:

‘[Ryan was] publicly cheerleading and forced an interruption of the certification of the 2020 Electoral College vote count, threatened the peaceful transfer of power after the 2020 Presidential election, injured more than one hundred law enforcement officers, and resulted in more than a million dollars’ worth of property damage.’

The real estate business owner posted pictures of the enraged rioters attacking equipment owned by members of the media. She said it was “a cool moment:”

‘[The insurrectionists] just went to town on the AP equipment.’

The prosecutors said that another defendant Katherine Schwab threw a piece of their equipment to the ground then tried to destroy it:

‘[She joined the crowd’s assault] kicking media equipment and throwing one piece of equipment on the ground.’

Ryan pled guilty at summer’s end. Then in her statement of offense she wrote, according to The Court Listener:

‘Today was a great example of what America is about.’

A video had pictured her chanting:

‘Fight for Trump! [I] paraded, demonstrated, or picketed inside the Capitol [but knew I] did not not have permission to enter the building.’
