President Obama had three press secretaries during his presidency: Robert Gibbs, Jay Carney, and Josh Earnest. Gibbs went on to be the Vice President of the McDonald’s corporation in charge of communications. Carney became the vice president of corporate affairs at Amazon. Earnest is the senior vice president and chief communications officer for United Airlines.
Donald Trump’s first secretary, on the other hand, was kicked off the naval board, did an embarrassing and short stint on Dancing with the Stars, and his book failed to sell more than a few thousand copies.

President Biden removed 18 people from the boards in the Department of Defense after Trump and his allies appointed all new Trump loyalists like Kellyanne Conway following the 2020 election. Although Spicer has military experience and serves as a commander for the Naval Reserves, continuing to work with Trump after the attack on the Capitol Building indicates that he is confused about what his position as a member of the military means.
In his ruling, Judge Dabney Friedrich, a Trump appointee, wrote that:
‘Even if the merits of this case were closer, the plaintiffs have not met their burden of showing either that they face an irreparable injury or that the public interest favors a preliminary injunction.’
Spicer, who is most famous for beginning his stint as Trump’s press secretary with a lie that the inauguration of the 45th president was the most well-attended inauguration in history, “period,” will not be allowed back onto the naval board.
