Joe Biden’s Department of Energy (DOE) announced it would reverse Donald Trump’s move that scrapped environmental regulations regarding shower water flow. President Biden has brought back the 2013 regulations on the showerhead rule, limiting the flow to 2.5 gallons per minute. Trumo had tripled that amount.
Ah yes, it was all about Donald Trump’s elaborate combover. In 2020, he said, according to The Washington Post:
“You take a shower, the water doesn’t come out. You want to wash your hands, the water doesn’t come out. So what do you do? You just stand there longer or you take a shower longer? Because my hair — I don’t know about you, but it has to be perfect.’
In 1994, the regulation was supposed to be an update of the showerheads to accommodate fixtures with multiple nozzles. President Barack Obama modified that regulation in 2013.
Conservative and pro-free markets thought Trump’s idea was brilliant. The Competitive Enterprise Institute, which said in a statement Wednesday that read:
‘[C]onsumers should be able to decide for themselves what kind of showers they buy and use, and do so free from regulatory constraints.’
Apparently, President Biden did not take the showerhead flow personally.
