GOP Criminal Election Fraud Scheme Reported To Federal Authorities

New Mexico state Attorney General Hector Balderas (D) has submitted information to federal authorities regarding efforts in his state — which Biden won — to essentially falsify electoral votes on behalf of Donald Trump. It’s the same sort of circumstance that unfolded in other highly disputed states where Biden was victorious, and accordingly, Michigan state Attorney General Dana Nessel (D) has also referred the matter of her own state’s falsified electoral votes to federal authorities.

As explained by the Albuquerque Journal, Balderas “is referring to federal law enforcement allegations that Republicans in New Mexico submitted a false document intended to deliver the state’s presidential electors to Donald Trump.” The New Mexico Republicans said that they undertook their move “on the understanding that it might later be determined that we are the duly elected and qualified Electors for President and Vice President of the United States of America from the State of New Mexico” — although there was never any legitimate indication, once Biden was determined to be the state’s winner, that the outcome might legitimately be reversed. Balderas himself observed that election “laws are the foundation of our democracy and must be respected,” adding: “While review under state law is ongoing, we have referred this matter to the appropriate federal law-enforcement authorities and will provide any assistance they deem necessary.”

Over in Michigan, Nessel has pointed to potential criminal acts involved in the electoral vote scheme including forging public records. Over a dozen Michigan Republicans signed on as supposed electoral college members backing Trump, and documentation of this claim was sent to federal authorities — although it had no legal grounding. As Nessel explained: “I will tell you that we’ve been evaluating charges for nearly a year now based on these activities, as soon as we became aware of that. So, I will say, under state law I think clearly you have forgery of a public record, which is a 14-year offense, and election law forgery, which is a five-year offense. But, what we have decided to do with the investigation in light of the fact that of course, we have seen… various different false slates of electors from seven different states, in what seems to be a coordinated effort between the Republican parties in various different states — we think this is a matter that is best investigated and potentially prosecuted by the feds.”
