Russian President Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine in a tragic attempt to return his country to ‘its glory days’. It will be bloody. It will be tragic. All for a man who swims two hours a day in an attempt to retain his youthfulness as The Lincoln Project showed us.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy tweeted, according to the AP:
‘As of today, our countries are on different sides of world history. Russia has embarked on a path of evil, but Ukraine is defending itself and won’t give up its freedom.’

One of the Ukrainian president’s advisers Mykhailo Podolyak said:
‘A full-scale war in Europe has begun. … Russia is not only attacking Ukraine, but the rules of normal life in the modern world.’
Russia’s attack bombed cities and bases during its airstrikes. This as the Ukrainian people wound around blocks waiting for a turn at the ATM machine before they escaped. Reports indicated there will be a fiercely large refugee problem:
