Two American celebrities with ties to Ukraine and Russia sent important social media messages hoping to reach the Russian military and beyond. Movie star Arnold Schwarzenegger’s and Lt. Colonel Alexander Vindman’s message to them was stark.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has had an extremely tight muzzle on his country’s media, which are really no more than propaganda machines. So the weightlifting champion, movie actor, and former California Governor Schwarzenegger sent his message via Twitter and YouTube.  Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vindman was born in Ukraine. He retweeted Schwarzenegger’s video to increase its reach.

The Austrian-born weightlifter directly addressed the Russian soldiers fighting in Ukraine. He explained in his Twitter video how much he likes Russians and that his role model from the time he was 14 was a Russian weightlifter. But he had a sad message for the soldiers, they are being implicated in Putin’s war crimes. President Joe Biden said Wednesday that he believed Putin was, indeed, a war criminal now.

The Austrian-born weightlifter spoke directly to Russian people, too, “I love the Russian people.” In his tweet, he urged the soldiers to get out the message:

‘I love the Russian people. That is why I have to tell you the truth. Please watch and share.’

Lt. Colonel Alexander Vindman was fired for telling the truth about Donald Trump’s crooked interactions with Ukraine. He asked anyone who saw his retweet of Schwarzenegger’s message to “please retweet” it as far as possible:

‘Please retweet this important message for widest distribution.’

Schwarzenegger bench pressed 500 pounds (227 kg.) and 710 pounds in a deadlift (322 kg.), according to The Barbell. The weightlifter met his idol, the Russian weightlifting champion Yuri Vlasov, The Russia Beyond reported. Ironically, the Ukrainian Mayor Vitali Klitschko is a boxing world champion, according to The Orissa Post
