As the world watches and Ukrainians flee from the violence, Russia continues its onslaught of attacks against the smaller and less powerful country. Ukraine is desperately in need of help, and Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) tweeted a plea for the United States government to help them in the fight with military aid.

Under the Donald Trump administration, aid to Ukraine was used as a bargaining chip to extort the government officials of Ukraine to help Trump spread conspiracy theories about his political rival, Joe Biden. The move saw Trump impeached for the first time, followed by a second impeachment in 2021. The Ukrainian government is still in need of help, and the new president can be convinced to do more.

In his tweet, Senator Romney wrote:

‘On day 28 of the brutal Russian invasion, we are in awe of Ukrainian resolve and courage. They can and must win. We and NATO can and must finally send every needful weapon including advanced anti-air missiles and MiGs. Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead.’

With conversations around declaring a no-fly zone proving fruitless, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskyy is left pleading for help from NATO countries. Sen. Romney, along with other members of Congress, have committed themselves to pleading on their behalf.

Twitter had a lot to say about the open plea for help by Sen. Romney. Read some of their comments below:
