At the Slovakia border in West Ukraine, police caught a “25-man hit squad,” according to the British Government. They were trained, merciless killers with instructions to kill President Zelenskyy.
The Huffington Post reported:
‘[T]he organization of Russian mercenaries reportedly tasked with assassinating President Zelenskyy.’
Kyiv counter-intelligence sources alleged that a Russian Secret Service agent went with the killer squad:
‘The alleged founder and leader of the Wagner Group, Dmitry Utkin, is believed to have Nazi sympathies ― an irony if true considering how Russian President Vladimir Putin has justified his aggression in Ukraine by claiming it needs to be “de-Nazified.”’
Zelenskyy remaining in Ukraine has given citizens remarkable confidence. He has proven to be a gritty, intelligent leader even though Putin’s killer squads are seeking him. At one point, the Ukrainian president said:
‘I am not afraid.’
Earlier when the Ukrainians found out about the scheme of several dozen assassins headed toward President Zelenskyy, he called a 36-hour “hard curfew.” That way, anyone out was an easy target.
‘The United Kingdom’s Foreign Office reported that:
‘It believes Russia is using the Wagner Group, a shadowy Kremlin-linked mercenary organization, to hunt down and kill Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.’
‘These oligarchs, businesses and hired thugs are complicit in the murder of innocent civilians and it is right that they pay the price. Putin should be under no illusions – we are united with our allies and will keep tightening the screw on the Russian economy to help ensure he fails in Ukraine. There will be no let-up.’
President Zelenskyy called for peace but would show no mercy for the Russian invaders, according to CNN:
‘Not to yours — to our land. To our people. We are doing everything to end this war. And when we succeed, it will certainly happen, you will be sure of at least one thing: your children will no longer be sent to die on our land, on our territory.’
