On Monday night, a leaked Supreme Court draft opinion overturning Roe v. Wade was released, and the response has been deeply divided, with the vast majority disagreeing with the decision and a small minority celebrating the end of women’s rights to bodily autonomy. Although it’s been coming for some time, Americans can thank Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) – who, as an interesting side notes, has a Senate office number at (202) 224-2541 – Republicans everywhere, and Donald Trump.
They can thank them by voting all of them out and denying any of them another term in office or another Supreme Court pick.

Just as three of the five SCOTUS justices fully expected to overturn Roe v. Wade said during their confirmation hearings, the 1973 legal decision ensuring every American the right to make medical decisions privately in consultation with their physicians and without interference by their government known as Roe v. Wade is established precedent. Biden spoke in support of that truth.
‘I believe that a woman’s right to choose is fundamental, Roe has been the law of the land for almost fifty years, and basic fairness and the stability of our law demand that it not be overturned.’
Although Biden stopped short of giving any specific information about what his administration is prepared to do in response to the decision, should it turn out to be the final decision, the president did promise to fight it.
‘We said that Roe is based on ‘a long line of precedent recognizing ‘the Fourteenth Amendment’s concept of personal liberty’… against government interference with intensely personal decisions…we will be ready when any ruling is issued.’
