In the week before Mother’s Day in 2022, a leak of a draft opinion by the Supreme Court in a case that could effectively ban abortion nationwide showed mothers just how much they trust them to govern their own bodies.
This Mother’s Day let’s not forget that the GOP @SenateGOP @HouseGOP is stripping rights away from women. As a husband and father to a daughter, I’m disgusted by this assault on women’s right, turning back the clock on the drive towards equality. 😘 @natsechobbyist

Col. Alexander Vindman, the former Director for European Affairs for the United States National Security Council, came forward during Donald Trump’s first impeachment trial to testify that he heard the then-president try to extort the Ukrainian president by promising him weapons in exchange for help with his political campaign. Since then, he’s become an important voice in American politics with insider knowledge to inform his point of view.
Vindman shamed the GOP for attempting to take the rights of women over their own bodies away, an outcome that seems certain to be announced sometime over the summer. The move will revert women’s status as having agency over her body and future back to pre-1970s, when women still had abortions, but had risky and sometimes fatal ones.
