The Lincoln Project shared a video on Twitter this weekend shaming Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.), the current third-ranking leader of the House GOP conference, for becoming (as the group put it) “just another sad Trump apologist.” Stefanik, who replaced Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) in that leadership position, spends her time pushing dangerous nonsense like a version of the “great replacement” conspiracy theory and the lie that Democrats “had ZERO plan to address the baby formula crisis.”

The video appears to have been posted before. This time, The Lincoln Project captioned it, “See you again soon, Elise,” seemingly suggesting they’d be once again targeting her in the near future. In the clip, a narrator says:

‘What happened to Elise Stefanik? She was supposed to be different, better than the rest. Small-town roots, big-time education. Worked with President Bush. Was committed to compassionate conservatism. A different kind of Republican. Youngest woman elected to Congress. Such a bright future. Now, she’s just another sad Trump apologist. When Trump demeans and attacks women, she goes along, smiling. When Trump encourages racists, she is silent… Did she need Trump’s approval that bad? Did she want to be one of the gang? It’s sad… If Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert went to Harvard, they’d be Elise Stefanik. What a waste.’

Watch below:

As for the formula issue, Biden invoked the Defense Production Act to allow federal authorities to order U.S. manufacturers to prioritize the production of baby formula, and the administration also launched a plan to ship baby formula in from outside the country through Department of Defense-contracted commercial aircraft instead of ordinary cargo routes, helping the critical product get to Americans quicker. Stefanik’s weird phrasing (“had”) suggests she or a comms staffer was trying to rant about some undetermined point in the past when Democrats supposedly had no plan even though they have one now — but one of her claims Biden had no plan came the day after administration officials publicly laid out steps they were taking and said formula production had increased to a four-week level higher than the four weeks before a major recall driving the shortage.

There’s also been a push from some Republicans against the Biden administration continuing to procure and provide formula for infants from outside the country in their care. Prioritizing the possibility of basically starving foreign-born babies over working on other means to fix the formula crisis is just a disturbing move. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) has been among those rampaging against continuing to provide these items for certain foreign infants. “The Biden administration is sending pallets of baby formula to the border for illegal aliens, while American mothers are crying in the grocery store searching for it. We should Protect America First!” Greene recently complained.
