An army is coming to steal the 2022 elections for the ultra-right, the 2024 elections, and on until America as a democracy exists no more. The 2020 election was the alpha test, and it came close to putting Donald Trump in as the dictator. Now the president’s unofficial army has learned from its mistakes. And get this, it already has in place a well-conceived strategy on how to accomplish a successful coup after Trump’s 2020 failed attempt. The Lincoln Project tells it, recorded in the fake army’s own words.
Take Michigan for example. The way the coup is working is Trump’s people are going to recruit an “army of lawyers.” And they are going to make certain that those they recruit have pre-existing relationships with the police chiefs, the police, and eventually with the judges. Because that is where these challenges ultimately will take place.
The plan places people at the door as watchdogs to observe ballots coming in for the count. And these paid far-right professionals will make sure they know how many ballots do not go into the machines. It is an army that fights dirty.
Barton Gellman wrote in The Atlantic, December 2021 how the next coup will take place. Indeed, he said that “Trump’s next coup has already begun.” This time its authors will “rely on subversion more than violence.” In the next attempt:
‘Thousands of votes will be thrown away, or millions, to produce the required effect. The winner will be declared the loser. The loser will be certified president-elect.’
But Democrats act as if this is not happening:
‘[Democrats] are not behaving as if they believe the threat is real. Some of them, including President Joe Biden, have taken passing rhetorical notice, but their attention wanders. They are making a grievous mistake.’
Professor of Law and Political Science at UC Irvine Richard Hasen said:
‘The democratic emergency is already here. We face a serious risk that American democracy as we know it will come to an end in 2024. But urgent action is not happening.’
The way Trump gained control of the Republican Party, his extended army, was basically simple:
‘Trump has reconquered his party by setting its base on fire. Tens of millions of Americans perceive their world through black clouds of his smoke. His deepest source of strength is the bitter grievance of Republican voters that they lost the White House, and are losing their country, to alien forces with no legitimate claim to power.’
The Atlantic warned “Trump has built the first American [army]…ready to fight by any means:”
‘This is not some transient or loosely committed population. Trump has built the first American mass political movement in the past century that is ready to fight by any means necessary, including bloodshed, for its cause.’
