No matter how corrupt and power-hungry he is, the twice-impeached ex-president who lost the popular vote twice did not have the ability to conduct his attempted coup on his own. Instead, he had a lot of help from people like Sydney Powell, John Eastman, and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani.
While it was a foregone conclusion while listening to the Jan. 6 hearings that have already aired that Eastman will likely be held accountable for his own crimes, the role of Giuliani seemed much larger and more public. On Friday, it was revealed that Giuliani is very much tied to a criminal investigation: the investigation of Trump’s attempts to pressure officials to overturn the outcome of the 2020 presidential election in Fulton County, Georgia.
According to CNN:
‘The special purpose grand jury — which has been investigating whether former President Donald Trump or his allies violated the law in their efforts to flip the 2020 election results in Georgia — has heard testimony from at least four witnesses regarding Giuliani’s activities. Three of those witnesses were Georgia Democratic lawmakers, who testified this week and were at the state Capitol when Giuliani and other Trump lawyers shared conspiracy theory-laden claims of voter fraud in December 2020.’
As head of Trump’s legal team, Rudy Giuliani said “We've got lots of theories, we just don't have the evidence.”
That is a direct quote. And it is the mantra of the Republican Party. Please pass this on so that everyone knows exactly what we’re dealing with.

On December 3, 2020, the Georgia Senate Judiciary subcommittee hearing about election integrity heard from Giuliani, who made wild claims about “irregularities” in Fulton County’s elections. Two of the state senators, Democrats Elena Parent and Jen Jordan, say they have testified to his actions on that day in front of the Jan. 6 congressional committee investigating Trump’s attempted coup.
Georgia Senator Jen Jordan said of the meeting that:
‘The focus seemed to be, obviously, this Senate subcommittee meeting where Giuliani was present and effectively did his dog and pony show without anyone pushing back.’
As the hearings continue, it becomes more and more apparent that the United States hovered on the brink of collapse, and that a U.S. president and his faithful cult leaders were just a small step away from destroying us. State by state, including the state of Georgia, all the states that Trump expected to win were pressured to help Trump reinstall himself into power. Georgia, in fact, had an entire session dedicated to the fake “problem.”
Georgia State Rep. Bee Ngyuen told CNN that:
‘It’s very surreal to go back and put together all these moving pieces that led up to the attempt to overturn the results of the election and led up to the aftermath of January 6. It’s very surreal that the Georgia legislature was part of this, and that these hearings took place in our legislative body.’
Testimony continues behind closed doors before the Fulton County special grand jury probing Trump:
