There are no lengths to which Donald Trump, the twice-impeached ex-president who lost the popular vote twice, would not go to win a second term. Those lengths included numerous, unfounded attacks on Joe Biden’s only surviving son, Hunter Biden, who is not a politician, not involved with any inner workings of the White House, and certainly hasn’t been named as an advisor in the White House. Trump truly has no shame, and was impeached for his efforts to trash Biden’s son in 2020.

Now, new footage from British documentarian Alex Holder, which is expected to feature prominently in an upcoming hearing by the Jan. 6 investigative committee, says that Trump made a private phone call on Air Force One to Russian President Vladimir Putin just hours after Putin denounced claims that Hunter Biden had made corrupt dealings with Russian politicians.

Holder says that the phone call, which is highly irregular considering the White House policies on recording every call between a president and another world leader, delayed an interview session.

The Daily Beast reports that Holder said:

It’s unclear what was discussed during the conversation, which Holder believes to have taken place just after news broke that Putin had denounced Trump’s allegations of wrongdoing against Hunter Biden.

Just like claims that Hunter Biden’s time on the board of Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company, was corrupt and meant to enrich himself and his father using ties to the White House, has never been proven true, Trump focused on another crazy conspiracy theory in his claims about Russia. Trump had previously been impeached for attempts to extort Ukrainian President Volodomir Zelensky into saying he was conducting an investigation of Biden’s son, and it appears he made the same attempt with Putin.

‘Trump fixated on an alleged transfer of several million dollars to Biden from Yelena Baturina, the wife of Moscow’s former mayor…the claim of the wire transfer has never been substantiated, with President Biden saying in a 2020 debate that it was “simply not true.”’

Holder says that he was told by then-chief of staff Mark Meadows that an interview would be cancelled while Trump spoke to Putin on the phone. The 11 hours of footage collected by Holder may play quite prominently in the coming days.

Rolling Stone points out that:

‘The date and time of the call coincided with Putin publicly criticizing Trump for making unfounded claims about Hunter Biden’s business dealings in Ukraine, although it’s unclear what the two leaders discussed. The U.S. and Russia were also trying to negotiate a nuclear accord at the time.’
