Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), he of the dramatic Supreme Court justice confirmation hearings and the rapid turn from moderate conservative to Donald Trump flunky, once tweeted that “if we nominate Trump, we will be destroyed…..and we will deserve it.” Six years later, both the Republican Party and Graham himself are all but destroyed. Boy, did they ever deserve it.
A criminal probe in Georgia focused on the ex-president’s attempts to pressure state officials to overturn a democratically decided election has turned its sights on two phone calls made by Graham on Trump’s behalf. In one of those calls, Graham was recorded to have said to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensberger that he should reexamine “certain absentee ballots cast in Georgia to explore the possibility of a more favorable outcome for former President Donald Trump.”

‘Graham is being asked to testify, in part because of two phone calls he made in November 2020 to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger. In those calls, Graham asked Raffensperger to reexamine “certain absentee ballots cast in Georgia to explore the possibility of a more favorable outcome for former President Donald Trump.”’
