The organized extremist recipients of Donald Trump’s tweet heard the call. Come to Washington, D.C. where it would “be wild.” One of his extremists called for a “red wedding,” a massacre with the blood running red. Another questioned why not “kill every Democrat — man, woman, and child?” House January 6 Select Committee member Jaime Raskin (D-MD) brought his years of experience to the “right-wing extremism in the Jan. 6 inquiry,” according to The New York Times. Â He brought life to the stunning events from December 18 through January 5, 2020-2021.
The former Constitutional law professor was one of the two presenters during the July 12 hearing. He said, according to MSNBC:
‘Four days after the electors met across the country and made Joe Biden the president-elect, Donald Trump was still trying to find a way to hang onto the presidency.’
Then, he turned the live televised audience to a meeting they said would be crazy, but it was beyond that. Pat Ciplioni was the Counsel to the President, meaning counsel to the office, not Donald Trump. The attorney received a call from a staff member that there was an unhinged meeting going on in the Oval Office.
Ciplioni came rushing into the room to find conspiracy theorist, Q-ANON follower, and attorney Sydney Powell and former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, and another man offering the ex-president off-the-wall suggestions for taking back the election from President Joe Biden — but none of the White House personnel.
The unhinged meeting occurred on December 18 and lasted into the darkest hours of the December 19 morning:
‘On Friday, Dec. 18, his team of outside advisors paid him a surprise visit in the White House that would quickly become the stuff of legend. The meeting has been called unhinged, not normal, and the craziest meeting of the Trump presidency.’
Attorneys Giuliani and Powell who lost over 60 lawsuits to take back the election came up with another alternative. They had brought Trump an executive order that would force the military to illegally seize the state election machines:
‘The outside lawyers who have been involved in dozens of failed lawsuits have lots of theories supporting the big lie, but, no evidence to support it. As we will see, however, they brought to the White House a draft executive order that they had prepared for President Trump to further his ends, specifically they proposed the immediate mass seizure of state election machines by the U.S. military.’
The meeting finally concluded at about 1:00 a.m. Then Trump sent out a grim invitation to his followers, a “call to arms:”
‘The meeting ended after midnight with apparent rejection of that idea. In the wee hours of Dec. 19, dissatisfied with his options, Donald Trump decided to call for a large and wild crowd on Wednesday, Jan. 6, the day when Congress would meet to certify the electoral votes.’
Trump’s tweet “electrified and galvanized his supporters.” These were, “especially the extremist and the Oath Keepers, the Proud Boys and other white nationalist groups spoiling for a fight against the government.” Raskin said:
‘Never before in American history had a president called for a crowd to come contest the counting of electoral votes by Congress or engaged in any effort designed to influence delay or obstruct the joint session of Congress in doing its work required by our Constitution in the electoral count act. ‘
‘We will see Donald Trump’s tweet electrified and galvanized his supporters, especially the dangerous extremist and the Oath Keepers, the Proud Boys and other white nationalist groups spoiling for a fight against the government.’
The January 6 Vice-Chair Representative Liz Cheney (R-WY) put aside the excuses for Trump. “He is not a child. He was a 76-year-old man.”
