One of the first police officers to testify before the House January 6 Select Committee was the heroic Washington Metropolitan Police Department officer Michael Fanone, as NPR described him. When reporters asked him what he thought of Senate Josh Hawley (R-MO), the officer did not crack a smile. The Lincoln Project captured his response for one of its best minute videos perfectly.
Hawley was the guy who gave the cauldron of rioters a fist pump to show his support of them. It energized the mob. Then after the insurrectionists breeched the Capitol Building, and he realized nothing would stop their unleashed anger, a camera caught Hawley hot-footing it away.
Officer Fanone said that there was a lot of that in Washington. If there was any doubt about what he meant, the officer called Josh a “clown “and the many like him “caricatures without character.” The physically and emotionally wounded officer said:
‘”Josh Hawley is a b*tch. He ran like a b*tch.’

Those behind the cameras applauded and cheered Fanone throughout his interview.
