After Donald Trump’s bizarre virtual trading cards that greatly slimmed him down flopped, the previous president tried another approach, ranting about the FBI and other federal law enforcement. He labeled the whole Department of Justice (DOJ) “thugs” that needed to be “dealt with” — now. In essence, he looked as if he was going for a January 6 repeat and endangering the lives of even more law enforcement members.
Now, Trump is urging his followers on Truth Social to attack the FBI and the rest of the Department of Justice calling them the “Gestapo” and “organized crime” members:
‘[W]eaponized thugs and tyrants must be dealt with.’
Then 45 posted this on Truth Social:
‘Our Country is SICK inside, very much like a person dying of Cancer. The Crooked FBI, the so-called DOJ and “Intelligence,” all parts of the Dem Party and System, is the Cancer…or our Country will die.” – Donald J. Trump’
The thinly-veiled threats appeared to be a callout to his millions of loyal armed followers. In 2016, a full 62 percent of America’s gun owners voted for the ex-president, according to The Washington Post. The White nationalist group, the Oath Keepers, bundled a “massive stockpile” of weapons nearby during their attack on America’s Capitol Building for the January 6 insurrection, The POLITICO reported. Had the former president declared martial law, the single-minded White nationalists would have broken open that stockpile.
Without any proof, the previous resident of the White House posted on his platform Truth Social, a claim that:
‘[The FBI was] absolutely [part of] a coordinated effort to change elections results.’
And therefore in Trump’s mind that legitimized the failed coup at the nation’s Capitol Building. For some reason, the Mar-a-Lago owner ignored the 1,000 insurrections indicted for their crimes on that heinous day, according to the Department of Justice.
Pundits theorized that Donald Trump’s rampant rage was just a symptom of the ex-president’s fear of the DOJ’s evidence against him. The House of Representatives January 6 Select Committee intends to refer a minimum of three criminal charges against him. They will include “incitement of insurrection, obstruction, and conspiracy to defraud the United States government,” according to The Huffington Post.
The Conde Nast Legal Affairs Editor Luke Zaleski called Trump’s brutal message the “exact speech he gave on Jan. 6” in this tweet:
‘He’s continuing the rhetoric that incites violence against the United States and his thugs know what “must be dealt with” means.’
Fortunately, some of the GOP have come out to defend their party in a group called “Republicans against Trumpism:”
‘Imagine the reaction if Obama said: -FBI thugs. Crooked FBI -Our Country is SICK…like a person dying of Cancer – The so-called Department of ‘Justice’ -US election system is like in 3rd world countries But it’s Trump (who LOVES America) who says it, so everyone can move on.’
The virtual cards were a better idea than the Trump rant.
