For many years, Donald Trump has relied on tactics to delay investigations and push back on attempts to hold him accountable for his corrupt actions in business and in the White House. A flurry of lawsuits have been filed in attempts to block investigations, but one Florida judge has decided that Trump’s latest attempts to block New York Attorney General Letitia James from investigating his business was met with a stern warning about frivolous and “vexatious” lawsuits in his courtroom.

Arguing that a judge in Florida has no jurisdiction over a New York investigation into Trump’s business practices, Letitia James sought to have the lawsuit dismissed. This is not Trump’s first attempt to block the investigation; in fact, a lawsuit filed with the same purpose was shot down by a New York judge a year ago.

In the motion to dismiss the lawsuit, James wrote:

‘This action is Mr. Trump’s second improper attempt to collaterally attack and end-run around rulings that have been issued by the presiding judge in the New York proceedings.’

Judge Engoron agreed with James’ assertions and warned Trump and his attorneys about filing repeated lawsuits attempting to stop the investigation. The judge declared that Trump and his children have a “demonstrated propensity” to engage in “persistent fraud.”

According to Law & Crime, Judge Engoron wrote that:

‘Justice Engoron also appointed a monitor to oversee the Trump Organization, finding a “demonstrated propensity” for Trump, his children, and his businesses to “engage in persistent fraud.” He then tasked that monitor — ex-Southern District of New York Judge Barbara Jones, a former special master in the cases of Michael Cohenand Rudy Giuliani — with immediately reporting any “unusual,” “suspicious” or “fraudulent” activity.’

Twitter was delighted by the judge’s decision, particularly his use of the term “vexatious” to describe Trump’s endless lawsuits. Read some of their comments below:
