Hillary Clinton Issues MLK Message Of Action For America

Hillary Clinton sent out a Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Twitter message pointing to one of the most important messages this remarkable man gave to us. At a time when America nearly lost our democracy on January 6, 2021, Clinton warns us that the battle is still far from over. She quoted MLK:

‘Freedom is never really won. You earn it and win it in every generation.’

In addition, the former presidential candidate urged people to “keep making good trouble.” That refers to a quote that Georgia Representative John Lewis (D-deceased) used on that fateful day when he marched across the Edmund Pettus Bridge located in Selma, Alabama and was nearly beaten to death.

Representative Lewis taught us, according to Brookings:

‘Get in good trouble, necessary trouble, and redeem the soul of America.’

Secretary Clinton did not return Americans to her own words. Instead, she reminded us of the lasting words of these two great men:

Let’s keep making good trouble. #MLKDayScreen-Shot-2023-01-16-at-11.21.14-AM Hillary Clinton Issues MLK Message Of Action For America Black Lives Matter Civil Rights Featured Politics Top Stories
