On Truth Social this Wednesday, Donald Trump posted a new excuse for why he was evidently found to have empty folders used for classified documents in his possession at Mar-a-Lago, a find poised to lead some observers — and investigators — to wonder where the contents went.
His contention is that the folders were what he called a “cool keepsake” after he or an official close to him were presented with the folders’ contents, after which the folders were allegedly left behind. The concept makes it sound like Trump treated the presidency on par with a trip to a theme park, where he could get souvenirs — which would certainly explain a lot of how he acted in office! Trump also compared those conducting investigations into the corruption in which he has been involved to Nazis and Marxists — obviously objectively ridiculous comparisons.
“The Fake News Media & Crooked Democrats (That’s been proven!) keep saying I had a “large number of documents” in order to make the Biden Classified Docs look less significant,” Trump claimed Wednesday. “When I was in the Oval Office, or elsewhere, & “papers” were distributed to groups of people & me, they would often be in a striped paper folder with “Classified” or “Confidential” or another word on them. When the session was over, they would collect the paper(s), but not the folders, & I saved hundreds of them.”
“Remember, these were just ordinary, inexpensive folders with various words printed on them, but they were a “cool” keepsake,” he continued. “Perhaps the Gestapo took some of these empty folders when they Raided Mar-a-Lago, & counted them as a document, which they are not. It’s also possible that the Trump Hating Marxist Thugs in charge will “plant” documents while they’re in possession of the material. As President, and based on the Presidential Records Act & Socks Case, I did NOTHING WRONG. JOE DID!” Does Trump think the average observer doesn’t understand the concept of a folder? Does his insistence on explaining the concept of a folder point yet again to his own profound gaps in understanding, which no doubt trace in large part back to that he didn’t even care all that much about finding or sticking to the truth in the first place? It was all a theme park ride to him, even as Americans eventually died by the thousands under his watch as he moped and whined about face masks.
There is obviously no evidence the totals reported of the classified documents recovered from Trump were artificially inflated, and there is also no evidence of agents planting evidence. Trump is also obviously in no position to competently assert what Biden did or didn’t do in regards to classified documents found at locations associated with him tracing to his vice presidency.
