Representative George Santos (R-NY) may not be long in the House of Representatives. Three LGBTQ Democrats have introduced legislation to expel the man who cannot tell a straight story. One of those Democrats referred to Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s (R-CA) ill-considered decision to let the New York representative attend a classified Pentagon meeting on the Chinese balloon on Thursday, according to The New Civil Rights Movement.
Why would McCarthy let Santos see classified intelligence? Legal and national security professionals went after that action. They said doing so was a “threat to our national security [and] insane.”
Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries said, according to ABC 7 News:
‘I haven’t had the opportunity to look at the precise language connected to the resolution. I can only imagine what it says and it certainly speaks for itself. George Santos is a complete and utter and total fraud and that fraud was perpetrated on the American people with aid and comfort from the extreme MAGA Republican establishment and they are still coddling him here in the U.S. Congress.’
The Democrats are not the only ones wishing Santos was out of office. Senator Mitt Romney called Santos to task at President Biden’s State of the Union, CNN reported:
‘He should be sitting in the back row and staying quiet instead of parading in front of the president and people coming into the room.’
Robert Garcia (D-CA) tweeted Thursday about Santos many lies:
‘George Santos has lied about the horrific Pulse shooting against the LGBTQ+ community, 9/11, the Holocaust, his career, his name, and is now being given access to classified information. He’s committed financial and campaign fraud. It’s time for the House to take action.’
Garcia tweeted that he and LGBTQ+ freshmen Congresswoman Becca Balint (D-VT), and Congressman Eric Sorensen (D-IL) are introducing the resolution:
‘LGBTQ Dem freshmen (Reps. Robert Garcia, Becca Balint, and Eric Sorensen) are introduCing a resolution to expel George Santos from Congress.’
Fox News Senior Congressional Correspondent Chad Pergram sent a tweet to Democratic Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries “on the resolution to expel Santos:”
‘It certainly speaks for itself..they are still coddling him here in the United States Congress.’
Santos is currently facing numerous investigations, including the:
- ‘Federal Election Commission (FEC)
- Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)
- Nassau District Attorney,
- Queens District Attorney
- New York State Attorney General
- House Ethics Committee.’
Representative Lieu requested McCarthy allow a vote to expel Santos to come to the floor after an individual who wanted to become one of Santos’ staff members alleged the representative sexually molested him.
