Trump Has Manic Melt-Down After Jack Smith Subpoenas Pence

At nearly midnight, Trump took to his personal account on his knock-off social media site Truth Social to complain about new investigative steps by Special Counsel Jack Smith, particularly a reported subpoena of former Vice President Mike Pence.

Pence could speak in rather direct terms to the pressure imposed on him by the then-president and allies of his to try and take procedural action during the Congressional proceedings to certify the 2020 presidential election outcome that would ostensibly block Biden’s win. He didn’t have the power to take that desired step. Why would a vice president have the legal power to undo what in basic reality are the legally documented presidential votes of millions of Americans? Perhaps Trump is worried about what Pence might tell prosecutors.

Donald angrily ranted as follows: “Will Trump Hating Prosecutor Jack Smith be investigating the FACT that they SPIED on my campaign, even as I was in the Oval Office, they Stuffed the Ballot Boxes (per 2000 Mules), used Covid to cheat, that the FBI pushed Twitter & Facebook around, causing massive voter disruption, and so much more? That’s really what he should be looking at, not asking a very decent Mike Pence why he didn’t send the votes back to State Legislatures for scrutinization, which he could have done. Get the RIGGERS!”

“2000 Mules” is a movie purporting to show documentation of widespread election fraud that actually shows nothing conclusive at all. Activists including a woman named Catherine Engelbrecht promised evidence to Arizona law enforcement of claims similar to the core idea of that production, which hinges on the notion that tracking data showing people repeatedly near drop boxes for mail-in ballots proves something big, but surprise! Engelbrecht and her associates never provided the promised evidence, eventually claiming to be providing info to the FBI instead, which officials discovered was false from agents. The team of the Republican state attorney general in Arizona eventually referred individuals involved for an investigation by federal authorities.

As for some of his other claims, there has been widespread outrage on the Right at even unspecific warnings or general requests from federal agencies to social media sites including Twitter, including concern that was eventually applied to the availability of reporting on supposed corruption involving Hunter Biden. There’s no proof that temporarily limiting sharing those links on social media swung the election — and the Trump team itself sent its own requests for Twitter’s handling of content, available details reveal!
