2020 Election Fraud Investigation Flops For Republicans

Donald Trump hid the findings of his hired researchers after they produced results contrary to the former president’s desired outcome. The ex-president was intent upon finding proof that President Joe Biden won only after the 2020 election was rigged against him. When the researchers failed to find that evidence, Trump secreted away those findings.

The Mar-a-Lago king was after  proof of election fraud, an election stolen from him. But the private firm did not discover anything that would have helped the previous president prove his claims of an illegal outcome. The organization failed to produce any results that weighed against the former White House resident in his second White House run.

The Berkeley Research Group compiled data from six swing states, according to Washington Post’s sources. But the results were far from what the Trump people desired. So Trump buried the results.

In fact, the research group’s discoveries debunked “some of Trump’s voting conspiracies.” Among those outrageous schemes were claims that dead people voted and the voting systems companies rigged the voting machines and caused Trump votes to jump to Joe Biden.

Political Enterprise and Investigations Reporter Josh Dawsey is with The Washington Post and covered the White House during the Trump administration. He scooped this article.  Chief White House Correspondent for The New York Times, MSNBC Analyst, and co-author of The Divider: Trump in the White House, 2017-2021, Peter Baker, tweeted:

‘Trump’s campaign commissioned an outside research firm to prove his election fraud claims but instead the firm found no evidence that he was the rightful winner. Briefed on the results, Trump kept claiming otherwise anyway. Great scoop from Josh Dawsey.’

Trump commissioned the research organization during December 2020. That was just prior to the former president’s failed attempt to overthrow the U.S. government on January 6:

‘Two sources told CNN that the House January 6 committee looking into the role Trump played in inciting the insurrection did not know about the firm’s work.’

In spite of the research results, the ex-POTUS continues to repeat the big lie that the 2020 election was stolen from him. But people may be tiring of his backward-looking tirades. The response to Trump’s announcement to run again in 2024 was weary:

‘The former president has often pushed back on that advice, arguing that his message is strong enough as it is, and one source close to him told CNN his proclivity for focusing on the 2020 election will be tough to break because he still regularly hears from members of his base who believe so-called election integrity is an important talking point as he seeks reelection.’

A second Trump adviser commented that:

‘despite the defeat of several Trump-backed midterm candidates who denied the legitimacy of the 2020 election, Trump has said he does not believe their losses were tied to their election lies.’

The Berkley Research Group discovered “some anomalies” and “unusual data patterns,” but these results would not have changed the final tally.
