Trump Has Weekend Meltdown As Prosecutors Gather Evidence

Surprise! Trump is still mad.

That’s obviously not actually all that surprising, but the persistence of his fury does beg the question of why he thinks vast swaths of the U.S. will or even should vote for him in the upcoming presidential election, in which he is running again. What’s his agenda, exactly? Going after those who have personally wronged him, in his delusional perception? How’s that going to help the people facing real-world issues like inflation, whose plight is where Biden and the Democrats have turned much of their attention, whether through work on solving delays in the supply chain or releasing some of what was stored in the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, no matter the subsequent fury over that latter move from Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.).

It was weird. Because of the decision to release some of what the U.S. held in that reserve, which was meant to help push down prices via boosting supplies, Greene accused Biden of trickery and political motivations. Anyway, Trump isn’t just mad. He’s also — unsurprisingly — lying again about the circumstances in which classified documents were found at locations tied to both him and Biden.

“DOJ didn’t need a Search Warrant for my home, but they did need it for Biden, who has not been forthcoming, had no rights to Declassify, had NO SECURITY and many different locations, EVEN CHINATOWN,” Trump babbled on Saturday. “He won’t give the 1,850 Boxes of Documents stored in Delaware – Why not? I have done everything correctly under the Presidential Records Act, he didn’t. As President, I had the absolute right to Declassify, not Biden. Unfair and unequal treatment under the law. Fourth Amendment Violation, & more!” Actually, vice presidents hold rights to declassify documents, Biden probably had about as much security as Trump did, there’s apparently no evidence of the current president’s team restricting government access to 1,850 boxes of administration materials donated years ago to the University of Delaware, and it’s unclear there’s concrete evidence Trump took specific action to declassify the documents found at Mar-a-Lago.

Trump also had a theory for why he’s supposedly facing what he calls prosecutorial misconduct. “MASSIVE & UNPRECEDENTED PROSECUTORIAL MISCONDUCT DUE TO TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME & BIG LEADS AGAINST BOTH PARTIES IN POLLS!!!” he said. Actually, polls of the 2024 presidential race — in which the candidate field is still taking shape — show what’s basically just a mixed picture. Trump also threw in some of his extreme, doomer rhetoric about a supposedly looming end of days, metaphorically or literally — unless, of course, he’s re-elected. “This is the most dangerous time in the history of our Country,” Trump delusionally insisted. “World War III is looming, like never before, in the very dark and murky background. “Leadership” is solely responsible for this unprecedented danger to the USA, and likewise, the World. HOPELESS JOE BIDEN IS LEADING US INTO OBLIVION!!!”
